Making Scottish Tea Bread

Ingredients
* 2 c. dried fruit (mix of currants, sultanas, etc.)
* 1 1/4 c. soft, dark brown sugar
* 10 oz. hot black tea
* 4 oz of Whisky
* 1 egg, beaten
* 1 3/4 all purpose flour, sifted
* 2 tsp baking powder
Instructions
1. Put dried fruit into a bowl with brown sugar, tea, and whisky. Cover and let stand on the counter overnight or preferably longer.
2. Preheat the oven to 350°F
3. Butter a loaf tin and set aside.
4. Combine fruit mixture in a large bowl with beaten egg, flour, and baking powder. Mix well.
5. Pour batter into pan and place into oven. Bake for 50 to 65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
6. Allow to cool in pan for 10 minutes. Carefully remove cake from pan and place on rack.
